350th memberJanuary 1979 – A young 15 year old Scott Dempster joins the royal Australian Navy at HMAS Leeuwin, Fremantle and then serves several years as a ‘Safety Equipment’ specialist. After forced redundancies across the Fleet Air Arm during 1984 due to the non purchase of HMS Invincible who was required for Falkland Island war zone duties, Scott transferred to the Australian Army continuing his military serves for many more years as a member of the Water Transport Group, that’s the department that has boats with wheels in those days!

2014 – Roll forward 30 odd years, Scott Dempster resides in Sydney, still has his hands on the helm as part of special projects team with the navy’s nuship Canberra and he becomes the 350th former Junior Recruit to join the new Tingira Australia Association. Welcome back to the navy old shipmate!
