The fourth annual Tingira Presidents Dinner attracted a group of 35 members and friends at Club Rose Bay recently. With good chatter and friendships renowned by several members attending their first dinner, it was another evening of fun and good memories with special guests Lee and Rosemary Stockley from RSL Rose Bay sub-Branch.
Several unique moments … The unveiling of the original Tingira Bell now in its new wooden casing. The Bell will now reside permanently inside Club Rose Bay with RSL sub-Branch member, Lee Stockley, as the custodian. There is still some final attachments to be added (an oar) and a decorative angle to the foyer area where it will be on display with an original oil painting of Tingira which was also presented to Lee on the night.
Tingira President, Lance Ker, found a new life line as he provided members with a very special ‘fashion show’ as he paraded the new ‘Tingira Bow Tie’. This will be the latest of our merchandise products to come online in July for those wishing to display our colours at ‘Black Tie’ events!
The highlight was again with Australia’s No 1 country music star – ‘Lady Tingira’ Amber Lawrence. Amber gave us her first performance of her new song ‘Cover Me’ which she will release as a duet with Luke O’Shea in the near future. Amber was also made an honorary member of the association and was most delighted to really feel part of us.
Tingira boys then assisted Amber to ‘up the room temperature’, with some great renditions from the Brisbane boys ‘Proud Mary’ and a few Hobart boys with ‘Swing Low’. Young Tingira Associate Member Marshall Lee, got the Karaoke sessions rolling with the eight verse classic ‘American Pie’
Good times were had by all, ready for an ANZAC Day march the following morning.
